CourtInterior Board of Indian Appeals

:

v. : Docket No. IBIA 89-55-A :

This is an appeal from a December 11, 1987, decision of the Portland Area Director, Bureau of Indian Affairs, to accept land in trust status for the benefit of the Puyallup Tribe. The appeal was filed in the Washington, D.C., office of BIA in January 1988 and transferred to the Board on May 16, 1989, in accordance with new appeal regulations for BIA and the Board which became effective on March 13, 1989. See 54 FR 6478 and 6483 (Feb. 10, 1989).

Proceedings in this matter have been stayed since June 13, 1989, at the request of the parties, who stated that they were pursuing settlement of certain land claims of the Puyallup Tribe, culmination of which would render this appeal moot.

On April 4, 1990, the Board received a notice of withdrawal of appeal from appellants.

Therefore, pursuant to the authority delegated to the Board of Indian Appeals by the Secretary of the Interior, 43 CFR 4.1, and at the request of appellants, this appeal is dismissed.
