The application of the Solicitor General for a stay of the judgment of the United States District Court for the District of

Columbia (Civil Action No. 467-72), presented to THE CHIEF JUSTICE and by him referred to the Court, is granted pending appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

Mr. Justice DOUGLAS would deny the stay and leave Judge Gesell's order in effect pending appeal. See Heuvel, The Press and the Prisons, Columbia Journalism Rev. p. 35 (May/June 1972).
