Disposition: Leave to appeal GRANTED. Further proceedings in the trial court are STAYED pending the further order of this Court. The motions for intervention are DENIED. Those seeking intervenor status may seek permission to file briefs as amicus curiae.
We further ORDER that this case be argued and submitted to the Court together with the case of People v. Caruso (Docket No. 96823), at such future session of the Court as these cases are ready for submission.
Appellant's brief and appendix shall be filed no later than December 8, 1993 and appellee's brief, and appendix, if any, shall be filed no later than December 29, 1993.
