Disposition: On order of the Court, the delayed application for leave to appeal is considered, and it is GRANTED, limited to the issues (a) whether the trial court erred when it denied the defendant's motion for neurological tests, (b) whether the trial court erred by admitting the disputed rebuttal testimony, and (c) whether the defendant was denied the effective assistance of counsel. The motion for extension of time is DENIED as moot.

We further ORDER that this case be argued and submitted to the Court together with People v. Pickens, Mich., --- N.W.2d ---- (Docket No. 95720), at such future session of the Court as both cases are ready for submission.

The appellant's brief and appendix shall be filed no later than October 20, 1993, and the appellee's brief and appendix, if any, shall be filed no later than November 10, 1993.

Persons or groups interested in the determination of the questions presented in this case may move the Court for permission to file briefs amicus curiae.
