The case of State ex rel. Henry A. Ross, Respondent, v. Kansas City, Mo., et al., Appellants, is here in response to our writ of certiorari issued in the above entitled cause.Respondents' opinion indicates that it is a proceeding in mandamus to compel reinstatement of Ross in the position of deputy city gas inspector, conceded to be in the competitive civil service class of Kansas City, and to enforce payment of his salary during the period of his alleged unlawful suspension.The circuit court rendered judgment for Ross on July 25, 1924, directing that he be reinstated in said position and receive payment of the salary attached thereto from June 15, 1922, the date of his suspension, in the sum of $ 3,787.50, which judgment respondents affirmed on April 5, 1926, the following recital appearing in respondents' opinion:
